Hormone therapy in Miami Lakes: start by finding out what is going on
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) replaces hormones when their loss causes symptoms. At OD Vitality in Miami Lakes I first evaluate you with lab work and tell you whether you qualify. The treatment I offer at the clinic is hormone pellets.

Signs that lead people to look for hormone therapy
In women
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Insomnia
- Irritability and brain fog
- Vaginal dryness and low desire
In men
- Constant fatigue
- Low desire or erection problems
- Loss of strength and more body fat
- Low mood
Is it hormonal or something else?
These symptoms also appear with thyroid problems, anemia, diabetes, stress or poor sleep. That is why I do not recommend hormones from symptoms alone. Read when it could be your hormones.
What types of hormone therapy exist
There are pills, patches, gels, injections and pellets. Some options are FDA approved and I explain them. At the clinic I offer hormone pellets; if another option suits you better, I tell you. Compare pellets, injections, gel or patches.
Hormone therapy for women and for men
Which lab tests are reviewed
I choose them based on your case. They may include estradiol, FSH, total and free testosterone, thyroid, blood count, glucose, cholesterol and liver function. In men I also review PSA, and in women your mammogram and Pap history.
How to prepare for your evaluation
- Bring a list of your medications and supplements.
- Bring recent lab work, if you have it.
- Write down your symptoms and when they began.
- Tell me your family history of cancer, blood clots or heart disease.
You do not need a referral to request your evaluation.
Your safety comes first. Pellets are placed only after my evaluation and your lab work, and not everyone is a candidate. Hormone pellets prepared by compounding pharmacies do not go through the FDA review that approved medications have. Like any hormone treatment they have risks and side effects, and other options exist. Results vary from person to person.
